List of the Permissible Liquids on the HCG Diet

Fluids maintain the proper distribution of nutrients in the body. It prevents constipation. It helps you prevent constipation and flush out bacteria from your bladder. Drinking an adequate amount of water boosts hydration and maintains the proper function of your body organs. Maintaining hydration also increases the burning of calories each day. When you drink water before eating, you are less likely to eat loads of calories.

Water for the HCG diet  

Water can suppress your appetite by sending a signal of fullness to your brain. It maintains curbs your hunger without adding more calories to your diet. When it comes to digestion, and getting rid of waste, water always plays a key role. During weight loss, it prevents sodium from building up in your body and supplies energy to your cells.

Your urine color is one of the easiest ways to determine whether you are hydrated. If your urine is pale you are well-hydrated and if it is dark, you probably need water.

Maintain hydration by eating foods that contain water. You can make some vegetable soup or eat fruits. You can also make freshly squeezed fruit juice but avoid adding sugar to prevent weight gain. Substitute sugar with stevia during the second phase of the HCG diet. Food choices that contain water:

  • Apple
  • Grapefruit

  • Watermelon (after the VLCD)
  • Celery
  • Cucumber

These are a healthier substitute for processed drinks. Avoid drinking soda, energy drinks, bottled tea, and processed fruit juices during the HCG diet.

You can also have chicken soup or other meat broth. But, avoid creamy soups as they can increase your calorie intake during the HCG diet. Soup can stave off hunger and maintain the fullness until the next meal. Chicken or beef soup contains nutrients it can also provide energy. Treat yourself to satiating meals but avoid loading too many calories. You can enjoy the allowed foods on the HCG diet as long as you control your intake of calories.

Other permissible fluids on the HCG diet

  • Lemon Juice

It is permissible in all phases of the HCG diet. Lemon contains vitamin C that boosts your immune system. It helps in burning your belly fats and improves your hydration. Lemons have an alkalizing effect on your that leads to other health benefits on weight loss. You can use lemon on your bowl of salad as an alternative to calorie-loaded salad dressings.

  • Tea

Tea has been the topic of many studies and has been shown to help encourage weight loss and discourage cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. It contains antimicrobial properties that improve gut health and prevent cravings. Tea can help burn excess calories and improve your satiety. You can have green tea, chamomile, ginger, and other organic tea through the HCG diet.

  • Coffee

It is permissible during the HCG diet. But, avoid adding sugar during the second phase of the HCG diet. You can have a cup of coffee for your breakfast to boost digestion and metabolism.  It also prevents constipation and indigestion during the VLCD. Note to stick to stevia than adding sugar and unhealthy sweeteners because they can interfere with HCG.
