An act of exercising is to help to condition any part of your body to improve your health. Incorporating exercise must be planned and structured properly to avoid its effect on the HCG diet. It helps you maintain fitness and allows you to work out your muscle and bones. Exercising also makes you sweat and improve your heart rate.

Many people believe that the act of exercising alone can increase your metabolism. Your metabolism is responsible for how many calories your body must burn each day. The higher the metabolic rate, the more food calories are burned. The metabolism works even when you do not incorporate any exercise routine. However, there are causes that exercising improves your metabolic rate.

How does exercising affect your metabolism?

Light exercises such as running and aerobics stimulate your metabolism. It can help in burning calories from the foods that you eat. Thus, suppress your appetite so that you can eat less but stay filled all day. Having a healthy metabolism helps in clearing your body from toxins. It also lowers your appetite response to high-calorie foods. Exercises such as running can improve your metabolic rate for greater calorie burning.

Right exercises that can boost your metabolism on HCG diet

The right exercise that you can incorporate on your HCG diet must not be heavy or intense. You can only accompany light exercises such as;

  • Yoga
  • Walking
  • Jogging
  • Swimming

The reason why you are only allowed to have light exercises is to avoid loss of energy. Exercising is not required during the HCG diet. However, you can have them to help boost your metabolism. Light exercises can also help in maintaining muscle health.

Exercises that have negative effects on your metabolism during the HCG diet

The HCG diet does not allow any heavy exercise or workouts. It’s because heavy activities may consume your energy that is enough to fuel your body during the VLCD. The exercises that are not allowed are;

  • Weightlifting
  • Circuit training
  • Hillwalking
  • Speed walking
  • Heavy yard works
  • HIIT such as jumping jacks

These activities may consume all your body’s energy that is needed for your body. Avoid heavy exercise or activity because it can slow down your metabolic rate.  Heavy activities can increase stress levels and may cause inflammation. This will also lead to intense hunger or cravings. A high-stress level that is caused by extreme exercises can lead to weight gain.

How often are you allowed to exercise during the HCG diet?

Phase 2 of the HCG diet, you are allowed to exercise for at least 10 to 15 minutes. You have to make sure that you still have the energy or you are not hungry before starting any exercise.  You can also do exercise 3 to 4 times per week. However, you have to stop it when you often feel cravings or hunger. Take note that exercising is not required during the HCG diet but you can incorporate some. You just have to make sure that it does not make you overeat or gain stress.
